HabYba Joins RAS KUUKU At “Nwansina Concert” To Aid “Operation Swat”, 18th December [La Pleasure Beach, Accra]
Confessedly,
Ras Kuuku’s original “Nwansina” track was a straight big buzz that rapidly earned
him loads of new fans, but the earning got even more rapid after the immediate
follow-up remix which features Luther and Stonebwoy --- it was seriously
necessary that Kuuku did an extra wonder to epidemize the “Nwansima Fever” and
Oops!......there suddenly came the flyers of “Nwansima Concert” flooding
facebook, instagram, twitter, whatsApp
and other sister platforms.
“Nwansina” is
translated in English as “houseflies” --- Ras Kuuku contextually used it as a
song title in reference to those noisy artistes whose lyrical content is sub-standard
and deficient of substance. Lyrically, Kuuku is on “Operation Swat” and every wack-content
artiste can’t escape the wrath of his correction bat whilst he rids the game of
the housefly artistes hovering around the hive with mere gimmicks.
Kuuku’s
“Nwansina” song does some real hard checks on artistry as it seeks to root out
career mediocrity and insists on creative excellence.
Well, “Nwansina
Concert” is here, and to keep a gender balance in the artiste line-up, the
Biggest Boss Promotions [the core organizer of the concert] has officially
offered HabYba a performance slot to come perform her recent solo releases in
support of the big beach jam.
Who is HabYba?
She’s a multi-talented artiste who has a long enough background history in band
membership as a consistent back vocalist for years, but has now gone solo. She
has backed most of Ghana’s top hit artistes both in the studio and on stage,
per her record.
In less than
five weeks, she has released 4 promo-worthy singles which lyrical content, style,
delivery and good production quality is a perfect combined proof that most of Ghana’s
top music pundits will very soon rank her in the circle of Becca, Efya, Raquel,
Wiyaala and the likes --- and that will be an undisputable merit as HabYba is worth
the ranking.
HabYba does several genres as a well-rounded
multi-talented artiste, but she’s more identifiable with the urban contemporary
African blends that are hinted in Afro fuse and the other neo-afro sub-genres.
