REGGAE EMBASSY
with host Fiifi SELAH
REGGAE MUSIC is evidently
the strongest medium through which the voice of the masses is widely heard. The
genre still remains as the sole axis upon which people revolution spins. It
speaks of the masses hard journey through the struggle and their burning thirst
for redemption. To keep masses
constantly updated of the conscious multi-faceted role reggae is playing, Fiifi
Selah brings to the world “Reggae Embassy”, his radio show that runs on Pluzz
89.9 fm [Ghana] from Monday to Saturday every week.
Reggae
Embassy serves as a platform for education, motivational philosophies,
lifestyle, talent building, great good causes, commercials and entertainment.
The
whole program is charted into 6 segments, one segment a day. A two-hour span
per segment, except for the Saturday’s segment which spans four hours ---
starting from late dawn to mid morning.

NB: International

but, please, note that Ghana is on the Greenwich Meridian Time [GMT], thus, to
catch Reggae Embassy, first consider the GMT equivalent of your local time before
you tune.
Holistic and
Health Issues
- this is strictly a welfare-based segment dedicated to life-saving education.
It takes care of all the aspects of human health: [mental, physical, spiritual],
thus, Fiifi brings on board medical gurus well versed in mental and physical
health knowledges to conscientize the public on vital health truths. He also
puts on board carefully-picked knowledgeable mystery students and faith school
professors to come air out certain very deep esoteric lectures. Always, something
far beyond the horizon comes up during this segment.
Selctor at the
Control –
on this, the Reggae Embassy crew collectively agrees on a specific selector/DJ
and invites him/her to the station to come show their DJ’ing skills. Each
Tuesday gets a different selector/DJ, but any one selector/Dj’s repeat
appearance on the is possible strictly by popular demand. This is when the
original Reggae Embassy DJ takes a chill, lending his position to a guest DJ.
Reggae Summit - the name
shouldn’t be confused, thinking this program is strictly dedicated to news
topics pertaining to reggae music. It takes the name “Reggae Summit”, as the
topics are being deliberated upon on a reggae platform, but the topics
discussed are of different aspects. On this one, Fiifi builds a panel of higher
learned resource persons drawn from various institutions to come enlighten the
public on serious current issues, be it socio-economic, political, activism,
lifestyle, history, art, entertainment or any other alarming issue. The mission
here is multi-faceted, so the topics are diversified.
Requests and
Shout-Outs -
this is when Fiifi conveniently treats his listenership to a more interactive show,
playing their top favourites and giving them an open chance to say their mind
and also dedicate songs to their friends, family and celebrities.
Ghana Reggae
Roadblock
– also called “Buss Di Youth”, is simply Fiifi’s special kind mission to give
exposure to incoming Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artistes, and he uses this
segment to do just that by introducing them to the real world ---- playing
their songs, broadcasting their brief bio and fairly ends up creating a first
generation fan base for them.
Reggae Express - a less talk more music time when Sabbatical
roots reggae rockers are spun. With “Reggae Express”, Fiifi and his crew treat
their listenership to one of the weekend’s early music therapy and this happens
to be the only period the Embassy serves the reggae world four hours on end.
