News: Mugeez & Bisa Kdei Are My Target - Afriqa Describe

It’s yet another day on hyping University, we thank the almighty God for protecting us. Indeed He is the Alpha and Omega God, King of kings and Lord of Lord’s.
Today on hyping University, we have an Energetic Young Guy (a Hip-life Artist). He is a singer, a writer and a producer. People call him “AFRIQA” though I don’t know his real name so as we have got him on this show we will ask his background information. So sit back and relax.

Shadrack: Welcome Afriqa, we are glad to see you on this show.
Afriqa: thank you, am also happy to be on this show.

Shadrack: Who is Afriqa?
Afriqa: hahahah!! Afriqa is my stage name, My Mother told me am called (Promise Isaac Duagbor) and am from Wassa Ateiku (western region). I started singing when I was 8yrs. It was there that I started schooling, went I was nine (9) years old I was taken to Accra to continue my education with my uncle who later left to Canada and left me under the custody of his wife for several years.
I was maltreated though but I never gave up until I completed JHS and left there to Odorgonno Senior high school at Awoshie Accra, Which I completed 2014 and I am now at University of Science and technology level 200 and am offering Bsc. Management with computing.

Shadrack: Which famous Musicians have you learned from and Why?
Afriga: I have really learn from Mugeez and Bisa Kdei, I mostly listen to them at my leisure times. Why because I really have passion in what they do. And I also dream of reaching where they are now and even beyond it.

Shadrack: Are you working out on a new song.
Afriqa: yes, I have my own song which is about to drop and am also featuring BuBulubu on his new upcoming Album titled “MOTIVATION ALBUM”. This album has six tracks on its and am featuring three (3) tracks.

Shadrack: why did you choose to feature Bubulubu?
Afriqa: I describe Bubulubu as my God because I could see that God is going to open doors for through him and also believe in him to the fact that he’s capable of making me see my dreams.

Shadrack: What are your main impulses to write about music?
Afriqa: My main feeling to write music is to encourage the youth as myself to come out with any talent they have as well because looking at where I started from if I had given up I would’ve wasted my talent
.
Shadrack: How would  you describe and rate the music scene of the city you are currently living in and how important is it in term of what you’re actually writing about?
Afriqa: hmmmm!! I always cry within when talking about music and even entertainment as a whole at Tarkwa, the young ones are suffering but there’s no promotion, Djs take money from us but fail to promote our music on air and it turn to be like we do music but we listen to the music ourself which is so much discouraging.

Shadrack: who handles your daily business activities? (Bookings, promotions etc)
Afriqa: God being good I’m now blessed with wonderful people in my life including Dj 360 who is taking care of my promotion and some other bloggers. Initially I had no one to help me.

Shadrack: From your readers who never had your music, explain your sound
Afriqa: to my reader, I just want to tell them that I’m willing to come out with best of music. Good music that they can boast of as a key to African Music in our era.

Shadrack: what part are you playing in the upcoming Album?
Afriqa: I did the hook on the tune.

Shadrack: Can you give us a freestyle.
Afriqa: Yes…..

Shadrack: where do you get your inspiration from?
Afriqa: I sometimes get inspirations when listening to instrumentals and music and even sometimes when washing and at my leisure times as well.

Shadrack: is been a rumour that you are a producer and you record your tracks. How true about it?
Afriqa: sometimes when I get to the studio to record I learn a lot too. One day I just tried to install the software on my laptop and I started playing some instrumentals and before I realized I could play a beat. My two singles “Adom” And “Enemies” I played the instrumentals on my laptop with headset and later took the data to the studio to record my vocals and then later my engineer mixes it. I sometimes take my vocals on my laptop before originally records in the studio.

Shadrack: what can you tell your fans?
Afriqa: My fans should watch out for the “MOTIVATION” Album from Bubulubu because I did most of the featuring on it as well as my own singles coming out soon.
And I love them all and they should keep supporting in prayers and promotion too because I’m not under any management but I know God will make a way which he has started already.

Shadrack: thank you for time.
Afriqa: okay, I’m really grateful too.

hello listeners and readers here comes the end of the interview, thank you also for your time. Catch us next time.
